Book Description
An Introduction to Project Management, Seventh Edition has been revised to include content from the Project Management Institute's PMBOK® Handbook – Seventh Edition (2021), as well as information from the Sixth Edition. This revision was made available as part of the book's seventh edition (2017). It covers the predictive and waterfall methods of project management, as well as agile and adaptive methods, as well as hybrid methods. In addition to the predictive Just-In-Time Training project, a second running case has been added that focuses on an agile/hybrid approach and is known as the Global Construction Human Capital project. This new running case includes examples of a product vision statement, product roadmap, release plan, product backlog, user stories, burndown charts, and other similar things. The PMP® and Other Certifications are now covered in an entirely new Chapter 10 of the book. The entirety of the book contains up-to-date data, statistics, and illustrations drawn from the real world. In addition to that, it includes up-to-date information as well as screenshots from a variety of software applications. Each chapter provides a number of real-world examples and references, including opening cases and case wrap-ups, examples of what went right, examples of what went wrong, instances of media snapshots, examples of best practices, and video highlights in each chapter. Materials at the end of each chapter include chapter summaries, brief quizzes, discussion questions, and exercises. An appendix contains case studies and additional resources. The student website is completely free to use, and it features downloadable templates, interactive online quizzes, connections to video highlights, and much more. There is a comprehensive instructor site that can be accessed in a safe manner, which includes exam banks, answer files, and lecture slides.
