In the Words of the Author
CPA Tracie L. Miller-Nobles studied accounting at Texas A&M University, where she also earned her bachelor's and master's degrees. She is now continuing her education at Texas A&M University, where she is pursuing a doctoral degree in adult education. In the city of Austin, Texas, she works as an Associate Professor at Austin Community College. A former Senior Lecturer at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, she has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas in Austin. Miller-Nobles has previous experience working in public accounting with the firms Deloitte Tax LLP and Sample & Bailey, CPAs.
Miller-Nobles has been honoured with several prestigious teaching awards, including the J. Michael and Mary Ann Cook prize from the American Accounting Association, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Rising Star award, the TSCPA Austin Chapter CPA of the Year award, the TSCPA Outstanding Accounting Educator award, the NISOD Teaching Excellence award, and the Aims Community College Excellence in Teaching award. She is a member of several professional organisations, including the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges. She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants financial literacy committee in addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges where she holds the position of secretary and webmaster. Miller-Nobles was also a member of the Commission on Accounting Higher Education: Pathways to a Profession.
