Book Description
The Fourth Edition of the Introduction to Global Politics (PDF) provides students in higher education with an international perspective on International Relations. The organization of the e-book into three parts and ten chapters provides a thorough introduction to the most important topics covered in this class, including the following: History, Global Actors, Theories, Economic Issues, and Security Issues will be covered in this course. This text teaches students how to evaluate global political events using the predominant theories in the field by utilizing the theme of globalization. It also provides sufficient historical context and a broad-based global viewpoint for students to learn from.
Introduction to Global Politics is an adaptation for the US market of the successful UK textbook Globalization of World Politics (also available at our store), which is now in its 6th edition and was written by Smith, Baylis, and Owens. The first edition of Introduction to Global Politics was published in 2013. The book was originally published in the United Kingdom, but it was adapted for publication in the United States so that it would be more suitable for that country's market. The first edition of Introduction to Global Politics established a model for success that will be carried over into the fourth edition.

— Krista Tuomi and the American University
“Introduction to Global Politics gives college students the tools they need to build a foundation for connecting with the world as active consumers. It also encourages students to think more deeply about the impact that events happening around the world have. It provides excellent coverage of a wide variety of topics that, in the past, have been neglected. — Petra Henderson and the University of Michigan State
