Book Description
The conventional method of approaching sport policy is rethought by Ratten in his book “Sport Entrepreneurship and Public Policy: Building a New Approach to Policy-making for Sport” (PDF), which adopts an entrepreneurial point of view. A disjointed collection of treatises on entrepreneurship, public policy, and sports entrepreneurship are brought together in the corresponding chapters to provide a consistent and coherent perspective on the process of policy-making. All of the individual chapters were prepared by reputable specialists. The basic premise of the textbook is that, whereas in the past, sport policy placed a greater emphasis on governance and political dimensions, these characteristics can now be included into a ‘policy entrepreneurship' viewpoint as well. The majority of sport policy research that has been done up until this point has also often used an organizational behavior or political science perspective. Contrary to the prevalent pattern, the ebook takes into account the growing body of research on sport entrepreneurship and applies it to this method. Both public policy planners and sports managers can benefit from the new tactics that are advocated in this article, since they provide essential resources for both of these groups. Both of these groups need to collaborate in order to develop stronger policy initiatives.
